Delayed reconstruction with pre existing lymphedema

Hi,

has anyone with pre existing lymphedema had a delayed reconstruction after mastectomy. I am hoping to have a prophylactic mastectomy and double reconstruction. I Am unable to have expanders and implants due to radiation. Have decided on TRAM/DIEP option. However having some health issues with my slightly low platelets and neutrophils. My surgeon is worried about this long surgery. Has anyone had a Lat Dorsi reconstruction or a TRAM with pre existing lymphedema ?  Just wondering how your lymphedema was after the surgery.
