WowGinGirl you have been through the wringer. Chin up Easy to say hard to do. From experience. Definitely . Radiation was the easiest part compared to everything else. I drew the short straw. Chemo, breast conserving surgery then 25 rounds of radiation. Biggest advice is look after the skin, check out if you can use mepital or strata X. I didn't get offered that luxury. I burnt a bit. I still use moisturisers to this day. Absolutely love the moo goo range. Once rads are finished the tiredness kicks in but does go away.
The radiation wont start till the surgery wounds are healed enough.
your treatment team will let you know. Mine was about 3 weeks after surgery.
keep us posted with how you go. The waiting for answers etc is the hardest part of all with this path we travel.
Thanks to my responders. I had the lumpectomy and then decided it was too boring and got a fierce cold and asthma afterwards, feeling really crap. Only just starting to feel a bit more normal and can breathe much better, cough is drying up. So glad I had my surgery at least, imagine if it was delayed!
Get my results next Tuesday, fingers crossed. Wound seeming OK but my boob is coming out in all the colours from the bruising. I will research the mepital and strata X stuff if I need rad ther. If I have to do chemo, will run a mile... never again
Bad luck getting crook after the surgery, GinGirl .... the coughing would have 'jerked' your boobs too, possibly making it more sore 😟 I hope the coughing stops soon.
Consider recording your results appointment as it can be hard to remember everything that is said .... and take a good, trusted friend with you too, for both support and a lift (if you aren't able to drive yet.)
Yep, the bruising will continue to come out .... and slowly fade xx
You're likely to see both a Medical and Radiation Oncologist .... to discuss possible Chemo/AI tablets & Rads .. go in with an open mind .... Here's a bunch of questions you can ask any of them, re your results & treatment xx (You mayTake care, and all the best xx

I have spent a bit of time looking into things, including the podcast about radiation therapy. Results on the 7th August via phone call, so will be a bit harder to interface with treatment team, but I will make sure I can get back to them with questions, especially given I have to consider potential impact of drugs on my lymphoma (hopefully none), which will be a question I may have to research myself as I doubt they will have decent answers. Feel a bit like a duck in a shooting gallery with, which cancer do I need to worry about just now? I have a friend who is a nurse who can sit in on the conversation and take notes. List is helpful, thanks.
