Hi mum has dcis for the fourth time averaging around every 3 to 4 years (on the right breast)!! The first time she had a lumpectomy with radiation than just lumpectomies for the other two!! Now she has been advised to have a mastectomy!! She is very confused, up till today she had decided to have a reconstruction during the same surgery, but after seeing the plastic surgeon today and hearing how big the surgery was going to be she is completely confused!! She is 65 and doesn't want to go thru such a big operation but is wondering if she should just have a mastectomy and wear a prostetic!!
Any advice would be muchly appreciated!!
