Awaiting Results

Maybe we can get together and sing ourselves hoarse. I feel sorry for my neighbours too. I play really loud music and sing (badly) while I walk on my treadmill, when I cook also, and sometimes even just dance around. Some songs are very inspiring and I have often found this helpful when feeling stressed or sad.:) Deanne xxx

Yes the waiting sucks! I have been telling my self that there is no point stressing about what MIGHT be. The amount I stress and worry is not going to change the outcome only exhaust myself! This is easier said than done (everyone has good days and bad) but really is important to remember. You are still the same person you were before you found the mass they only difference is you know there MIGHT be a bumpy road ahead. I've found that completely switching that worry part of my brain off has allowed me to think on it in a practical way then just tune out to not overload. I LOVE gemstones (I'm a total rock geek gemmologist) and have always found them relaxing and interesting so they have been a great distraction for me. Find something you have always enjoyed and have some you time. Watch a good movie that sucks you into the story, read a book, research fun stuff online. I watched a movie the other day that wasn't the best but I got something really good out of it. Think it was called After Earth with Will Smith and his son as the main characters. Fear is the main theme in this movie and Will has a good little speech about how fear isn't real. Fear is your imaginings about the future, things that MIGHT NOT EVEN HAPPEN. Danger is real but fear is created in your own mind. I am doing terrible at explaining it but I kind of made sense to me. All my worry I was creating myself imagining differnt outcomes. Totally pointless! I can't predict the future! I might get hit buy a bus tomorrow but I don't stay awake stressing about it LOL. Sorry for the ramble. The wait for results and how to handle all of this adventure (I hate the word journey!) has had me thinking a bit and you copped it all. Hope you are doing ok with how ever you are approaching this. This site is great. Just knowing there are people here for you is lovely. Oh! And sing! When I felt like crying or screaming I found cranking some music and singing (loudly - feel bad for my neighbours hehehe) really helped get rid of the pent up anxious energy. Ok. Will stop typing now. Thinking of you. All the best and I have my fingers crossed for your results!

I guess what the girls have said is true.  Keep busy if you can. I am so sorry you are going through this without your Mum. Its hard to just not worry, it's what we do.  However try and not dwell on things too much until you get the results. I know that an be easier said than done at times,

Yeah, I call it my silver lining as they weren't so diligent back when my mum was first diagnosed over 20 years ago.
