Hi, this is such a hard time for you and making decisions that you are really unsure of. I will share with you what I did and hope it helps but ultimately it is your decision. All L breast, Apr 25 had lumpectomy after diagnosis of DCIS clear margins, 2 weeks of radiation on the full breast, 1st yr reviews showed pleomorhic LCIS my surgeon wanted to do another lumpectomy but I was not sure that this was what I wanted to do as the pathology was a bit contradictory in that it may be LCIS or DCIS if I had the lumpectomy and the pathology was not good I would be back for a mastectomy, my gut and my head told me I needed to remove any risk so I decided to have a mastectomy and 1 sentinel lymph node removal which was negative so a good result, I am 6 weeks post surgery and my gut was right it was DCIS with LCIS so I would have had to have a mastectomy. It’s a big decision but I just wanted some peace and I am recovering well and feel I made the right decision, wishing you well with whatever decision you make, it use needs to be the right decision for you.
