9 months on....

Good wishes to all. I have just been catching up with all the latest blogs. I'm now 9 months out of surgery. I posted earlier about my cording issues, which I am still having. I am seeing a great phsio, who pummels me, trying to free up this tight band under my arm and under my breast. I can't do it myself as it feels awful and hurts!!

I wondered if any one else has this problem?

They tell me its a good sign as the body is getting rid of the bad....but I'm not so sure!

  • Well, I posted "9 months on..." the other day and spoke about my cording and how sore I was. A visit to my surgeon brings out that I have an infection. Bugger!! I have 2 weeks of antibiotics to swallow and hopefully this will clear up. Its rather uncomfortable and I am hoping I dont have to go under.

Best wishes to all of you. Stay warm.

  • Hi Ronni

I had mastectomy in October & like you had cording...up until about a month ago. I was having regular physio & found it finally subsided when the area under my breast scar was being worked on.....this originally ran from just under the breast scar, up into chest, under arm and just short of my wrist!

As well, massaged it myself & stretched my arm as much as possible! I thought I would never get rid of it...but finally it has gone & not returned....still make sure to stretch it now though.

Good luck & hope it improves for you asap!

  • Hi Ronnie, I still get cording under the arm and around the back and it's 2years even the radiotherapy aggravated it, I find I still do the exercises in the shower every morning ,it still rears it's head every now and then. Keep persevering Regards to you adean
