So new and not sure
Advise please
my hair started falling out and others had said to me it probably won't happen till after the c2 or is it the stess of everything that's made it happen sooner.
My crawling itch is driving me crazy saying don't scratch is easier said than done

- BeckywMemberI lost my hair 2 weeks in too. I started my fun with long blonde hair so i dyed it dark n cropped it short to lose my attachment to it before it fell out. I flipped out still and shaved it the same day it started to fall. Im finding moroccan oil on my scalp works wonders on keeping it nice and soft, and a chemo cap to bed because a naked head felt weird at first. Xx
- Brenda5MemberFrightening sometimes how fast the days go by and it seems to speed up the older you get. Next thing you know we'll be preparing for Christmas again, arrrrrg!
- cranky_grannyMemberI don't know if i'm lucky or not but because the tumor is noticeable, I keep looking to see if is getting smaller, I think i'm just impatient. some days go by so fast and others so slow like in the horrendous heat yesterday with a little conditioner in my lounge there was not many places to escape but it was better than outside.
my new motto is don't stress the things that you can't change and take pleasure in the good things because they become the best parts and out-way the other stuff. - primekMemberFingers crossed it shrinks sooner. Kath x
- cranky_grannyMemberOncology dr was great. Answered all my question. From my list and others my daughter had remembered the love Ng and short is if it shrinks or the chest I can have the surgery earlier. Find out in February.
- Brenda5MemberSome questions you can address to your GP, some to your surgeon, some to your oncology Dr and some to the head nurse in the chemo dept. Its figuring out who can best answer those questions is the key. I bumped into a chemo nurse who was doing a stint in the CT scan department. We had a long chat about chemo so I knew a fair bit before I went in there.
- primekMemberFeels great doesn't it? I too used to write down questions and my husband is my prompt if I'd miss something to ask. Often you need to write down what they said later also...I found I was asking the same things otherwise as I'd forgotten. Stress is a funny thing. Take care. Kath x
- Wonderful that you were able to share the clipping with your family - any time we can take control is great. So much is out of our hands so it must have felt very liberating!! I hope you get the answers you need from your oncologist, information is power and goodness knows we need some of that!! Great idea taking your daughter with you. There is so much to take in at first, I used to write down all the questions I thought of because I knew I'd forget half I'd then once in the appointment. Please let us know how you get on. Sending best wishes, Jane xx
- cranky_grannyMemberThanks everyone, the liberating part is right. The hair came off Last night. And I got some before and after shots and grandson tried to video it. The relief was immediate the clipping felt fantastic on my itchy head. We had fun while we were at it as well. My neighbors poor cat has been getting the blame for sneaking into my house and sleeping on my pillow moulting everywhere. And my granddaughter can now stop brushing all the stray hairs off my glasses.
Oncologist today going to ask a lot of questions today and get my daughter to take notes cause I have no idea what stage this cancer is though do know its invasive. And hormone fed. I'm over the shock. So ready to know more about it all. - melclarityMember@"cranky granny"
I agree with the girls, sounds so normal, I also lost mine in the 2nd week after the first chemo round. My scalp was itchy, then it became really sore as it started to fall, my hairdresser shaved to a No. 2 all over and I didnt notice it falling from there. I think that gives you a little control back too! I had long blonde hair and I didnt realize how much I loved it til it was gone. BUT 12 months on and my hair is growing and I finally feel human again! Hang in there. Hugs Melinda xo
