Silver regrowth
My hair is growing back rather quickly which was a surprise as I am still on weekly taxol...week 11 tomorrow. It has come back silver and white. Pre chemo it was brown with some grey at the front and...
Be ready for a thrill a week - I am almost three and a half years post chemo, and my hair is still changing a bit!!
Pre chemo my hair was dead straight, brown with a lot of grey - I had carefully grown out the dyed colour and was ready for an "embrace the grey" run, when cancer hit and my hair went. It grew back, in order and with no artificial assistance, as follows (started when I was still having Taxol):
About 18 months ago, I started finding hairs on my brush (which I almost never did before) - bit of a panic, but various consultations revealed nothing serious, no mineral or vitamin deficiencies. I reckon it really takes a LONG time to get the chemo out of your system, and that I just now shed a bit more than I used to as a norm (but well within normal patterns). Hair is just as thick, although the texture has changed a bit - less wiry.
So it's a bit of an adventure - I have changed my hairstyle, and added a (very bright) colour streak on one side. If it's going to change, I may as well have some fun!
Good luck, enjoy the trip!
