Pain after surgery
I had my lumpectomy on the 3rd March. After my surgery there was some pain & a little swelling. But now 20 days post surgery Im actually getting more pain & swelling & this dragging feeling much like I expected to get straight after surgery. The swelling has gotten quite a bit more in the last couple of days. Any suggestions.

It sounds like fluid build-up, you may have to see your surgeon to get it drained. Definitely with Tracy on this one, take it to medical staff ASAP.

Hi Tracy yes I had good axilliary clearance. I am seeing Rad Onc tomorrow so will get it checked out while Im there. Also the wound from where they took the lymph nodes is a bit infected at one end, my GP has put me on antibiotics but will get them to check that while I'm there too

Hi Paula,
I had swelling and pain for quite a while after the surgery, and then i had another surgery in top two weeks later! The pain increase was mainly due to the nerve endings re awakening, there was no heat or redness...BUT I saw my Dr or called my BCN when I was concerned just to get peace of mind.
Did you have axilliary clearance? Are you doing the exercises for post op? They help get everything moving and draining...
I suggest you raise these concerns with your Dr of BCN, you can never be to careful!
Best wishes
- Tracy
