Hi all. Just wondering what others have done about the numbness of hands/feet due to Taxol treatments please ? I have just had Round 9/12 treatments and the past week & a half I have been experiencing numb hands, feet, fingertips and today a sore / numb knee. I am taking B complex, olive leaf & magnesium /bark....also taken a couple of Aspro Clear.....

Hi. I finished Taxol 4 weeks ago, Mastectomy nearly 2 weeks ago. I noticed that the numbness in my toes dissappeared while I was in hospital and came back as soon as I was home. I figured it might have something to do with the compression socks and sure enough, when I wore them again a lot of the numbness went away. May not work for everyone but might be worth trying. I am curious to hear if it has any effect on anyone else

This numbness stuff has just been for the last week and a half, so had all the jacket knitted, but yes ! , quite an effort to get those buttons on last night. For you, the next 15 days wait will be anxious and hard....try to keep calm, busy (as I know you would be with all you have going on with your family and yourself), distract yourself by going to a movie, a walk, dinner out with a good friend. Hi again @Wren20 , no I didn't take anything for the neuropathy...I have three other autoimmune diseases, along with this bastardly BC and so take and inject enough as it is. The chemo also helped my scleroderma whilst taking it, but now is back to what it was before, and even a bit worse, I'd say. Methotrexate is often used for scleroderma anyway, and this is a chemotherapy drug, although I'm not on it. I knit a lot of babywear, as well as for toddlers and also adult items. Whatever takes my fancy, really. Basically...if I'm sitting...I'm knitting...

AAllyjay...what a lovely project for the lucky recipients. I love fingerless gloves. I have only ever knitted mittens, not gloves...one day !! My Mum was a knitter, as yours, she made most of our clothes too with sewing...four girls under five years of age !! Necessity and a lot of skill and work. We always looked cute, neat, tidy and all co.ordinated...same dress, different colour for each of us. I am self taught at all I do, but I am sure I did learn just by watching Mum.

Vitamin B was suggested to me at about the same stage of the taxol round and nothing got any worse. Might have been coincidence! Ice water is also recommended but I think that's prior to any impact not after. Neuropathy can be a real worry. I almost packed in taxol at the 10th dose but finding a lump under my right arm sharpened my focus! It was benign and unrelated but I wasn't about to take chances and finished my 12 doses. Neuropathy can take time to clear - I had a bad case and still have funny feet 5 years on. Doesn't stop me doing much, no pain and it's still improving even if the speed is glacial! Sometimes all you can do is take a deep breath and commit to the long haul. For what it's worth I am 5 years on and NED. Best wishes.

Interesting Lallaby....thanks for your message, interest and information. How did you find Taxol overall ?? How many treatments did you have all together...must be great to be done with them. I wish you a good recovery from your mastectomy and all other treatments you have had. I have two Taxols to go...a small hiatus...then onto 6 weeks of radio...aaahhh !

Don't forget that most nursing homes will just toss everything into industrial washers, and then straight into industrial tumble dryers afterwards, so any of that "hand wash in lukewarm water, dry flat in the shade" will be ruined very quickly.

Bluebell was my all time favourite. I use Patonyle and Cleckheaton and frequent the Bendigo Woollen Mills regular as I'm in and out of Bendigo. On my way to Bendigo today.

That's a good idea, double warmth and more flexibility probably while skiing.
i see you are Regional Victoria...which region ? What is your favourite yarn to use....mine are Rowan, Debbie Bliss, Bendigo Woollen Mill, Nundle Woollen Mill, some Cleckheaton.....
