@JanineG thanks so much for this. Answered my questions very well - and now I’m gonna throw more at you :) I will be calling and talking to my onco more about all of this, but I want to know about it from a patient’s point of view too even though mileage varies.
So does the infusion really only take 15 minutes? Is it really only given once a year? How much does it cost? Were you/are you terrified of the osteonecrosis thing happening? Was the flu-like feeling comparable to Neulasta side effects (if you had to have that)? If I broke my wrist when I was 4 years old does that count for the subsidy?
I have a health care card and I know the onco docs were saying they’d try to see what they could do in terms of the cost of the meds. I’m not sure if they were going to dispense it from the hospital pharmacy or what? I’m confused on who actually gets the script filled. I worked at a pharmacy once too so I have a pretty good idea of what Prolia costs at any rate.
I dunno. It’s really weighing on me all of this. Sick of bloody treating the side effects of treatment!
