Mouth wash
Hey lovelies
I took a hiatus from here to concentrate on my mental health with having my docetaxel today. I cried to the nurses from hear but they were wonderful and it was way better than i thought. Anyway am i supposed to keep mouth washing with this chemo?

- @Trikki2 I think it’s more the texture of the biotene - it’s almost thick - reminded me of something I can’t mention here :D :D :D. I lost my tastebuds on and off and it got longer each round of chemo but they did come back pretty quickly. xoxo

Im sorry your feeling this way. Im glad your talking to someone. Yes the new normal what even is it? Im so used to being poked and prodded, appointments etc.. i can completely understand the resentment. Cancer does not discriminate and its really something only you can do yourself. Trikki2 - @Trikki2 My tastebuds disappeared/went haywire progressively, with the biggest change in Round 3.
Pouring your troubles out to a professionally interested but personally disinterested stranger is good I reckon. Very different from talking to a friend, even a skilled one. Maybe ask your breast care nurse for a recommendation?
@Trikki2 How am I? Not so good tonight. Struggling to come to terms with my new normal. I know I have to get over it and live my best life but I'm not even close. I'm resentful and there's still part of me that feels as if I'm going to wake up and find it's all been a bad dream and I can go back to normal. Sigh. I suppose only time will help. - How interesting @Vangirl. I will be honest, i haven't done it alot but will give the biotene a go. Xxx

Trikki2 - I discovered biotene dry mouth half way through Docetaxol, tasted yuk but helped my mouth so much and made eating easier. Before that I was using salt and bicarb which didn’t really help.
- I didn't do mouthwash, except after brushing teeth. I did take a Lysine supplement which is supposed to help prevent mouth ulcers. In my highly scientific trial group of one, it worked!
I also switched to a non alcohol mouthwash after toothbrushing and can confirm all non alcohol mouthwashes taste like s%#t! - Thanks, yeh im not a salt fan. Thought something different
