Tonight is the night!! Don't be afraid. We're all thinking of you - Everyone here has been through it, and made it out the other side... It can actually be pretty liberating for some!
Perhaps you could turn the haircut into an experience for your little one, by letting them know it was going to happen in advance or even helping them cut mummy's hair. A morning surprise might be more upsetting than knowing in advance? There's also the "Shave for a cure" type stuff, could you possibly explain that it was for that as well?? :)
