@Annie C that is a most interesting post as I have just undergone a trabulectomy as my eye pressure has been unable to be contained under drops or laser.I also have a small leak from the bleb post operatively. I would be very keen to access any information on this esp as this has only happened since my bc diagnosis.
@kmakm Letrozole is prescribed for post menopausal women as our bodies convert fat in our breasts to oestrogen.Menopause inevitably brings changes to our appearance and we need to accept this and move on.
I have noticed in my older years that we tend to become invisible to others and I am as guilty as anyone noticing attractive younger people more so than older people.I think character is what sets us apart not looks and you have that clearly both in spades .Have a think about the magnificent older men and women whom you find fascinating to listen to or be with be it family , friends or famous people then think of the vacuous who trade on looks alone and how boring they are.Buck up buckaroo I’d still rather spend time with you wrinkly than the Kardashians ! Sadly these days there is a lot in the media of shallow vacuous people - the only blessing is they rarely speak thank goodness because when they do it’s usually cringeworthy.
PS I had cause to reflect on this too this past year becoming involved with a local bc support group of older ladies - one in particular whom in her late 70s set me straight about exercise and enjoying life - she still travels extensively - I admire her greatly and always will. I am also the youngest in the exercise class I do twice weekly - initially I was shocked by the sea of white hair but learned quickly they had carefully designed the exercises that they themselves lead - some having lifetimes in sport and fitness and still dynamically involved.As a group they can be very funny - was shocked one day about a risqué joke a gentle ex preschool teacher of 78 told - they are intelligent , kind and supportive and above all they accept me as I am including my relative youth.The only difference I have noticed really is expletives are not used so I am careful with my language.Like in any group there are diverse personalities but this mob have a lot of get up and go which suits me just fine.
