It's autumn! and my hair is falling like the leaves will soon be

Hi Troopers!

This morning while standing in the bathroom, I could feel my hair falling onto my shoulders and see it hit the floor. It's a bit surreal to feel and see that isn't it, especially when you haven't touched your head! Well It is Autumn (LOL!) I said, but it's now time for that short, short haircut!

So on my way into work I walked into my hairdresser, again no words were spoken, she just led me to my chair and said OK here we go! She did however give me "the look" when she grabbed my hair to hold it and it came off in her hand! We both laughed and she continued cutting....So, this is the new me for now....nature will do the rest.

Hope you're all having a good day and if you aren't, hugs to you Xx

  • Oh wow, you still have tons of hair! I cut mine down to 1/2 inch yesterday as lets face it, there was only soft baby hair left anyway and what was there at 5cm was just sticking up with static electricity anyway. It does look neater and I do still have eyebrows so I'm pretty happy about that.

  • You ROCK short hair!

I did the same thing before transitioning to a wig.

    I'm now 5 months post-chemo and I have a great pixie cut.

I can highly recommend Creative Wigs in Melbourne if you're in VIC.

    Cheers,

    Sally

  • You look great! My hair is about the same length now, 3 months after chemo has finished ????

  • And thanks Kim R for the information on the Richard Fiddler pod cast. I try to lister to him everyday and I missed that one.

  • Hi SQ,

short hair suits you but the changes are hard to adjust to at times. It looks like you have a good head shape and a personality that can go the full monty!

I am at the growing new hair stage and I am pretty sick of people coming up and feeling it. I know they are curious and supportive but I am over being a cancer patient. I shock myself every time I pass a mirror as I now have white very curly hair, this is not my vision of me!

Listen to yesterdays 29/2/16 Richard Fiddler on pod cast it was about a ABC radio personality who talks of his wife's breast cancer and her hair falling out. It was lovely what they did.

Keep on soldiering on, you are doing well.
