  • Totally agree with you @Hendrix .       @Loobylou  you might even decide you like the look.  I know a few of us here on the forum are going to keep it super short.  I wish I had done it years ago although I vaguely remember when I was about 17 I had the short pixie look then after that I tried every style and every colour I think. LOL.   Glad you are feeling a little better and managing to eat something.  Take Care. xo
  • Hi @Loobylou one of the downsides of BC but you can make it a positive and have a little family party to say good bye to the hair and have a family member cut it for you. I found it a great experience to share with those close to you. It’s ok to cry a little but as long as you laugh about it too. Good luck xx
  • Had a better day. Played word games to clear the fog and got out the house which was great
Also managed to eat which has cheered me too 😉
  • Thanks everyone.

just the reality kicking in I think. Have awful salty taste in my mouth all the time, can't eat and have a headache. Wil take panadol in a minute but want to be so cheerful for my family. Think I will call my BCN tomorrow for a chat...
  • Hi Loobylou, I’m currently having Chemotherapy, I have just finished my third A/C.
My hair started breaking of about a week and a half after dirt treatment, after second treatment I had handfuls coming out.
So I went to my hairdresser and asked for a number one all over, my hairdresser was so lovely she started clipping at a number 5 and worked our way to a number one to make sure I was comfortable in how I was looking, not saying I didn’t shed a few tears, but was pleasantly surprised with the result, I came home and sprayed my head with pink hair colour which washes out over a couple of days. I did this because I needed to control something, because as you know we don’t have control of what’s happening with Breast Cancer.
I just wear head scarves when I’m out, sometimes at home, or just all natural.
I have had my third round of A/C now and hair has almost gone from my head, adjusting to the new me.
Try and stay positive about your hair loss, it will grow back eventually, it’s not for everyone but I found having it shaved helped me, as I was getting in before the treatment took it from me.
Sending big hugs your way 😘😘
  • Hang in there @Loobylou. It gets better. Do you want to get ahead of it and take it all off, or are you happy to waitca bit? K xox
  • @Loobylou On the bright side, showering with a bald head is liberating, you save money on water and hair products, you never have bad hair days, you don’t have to worry about catching bugs, you don’t shed hair on your clothes, you don’t need a hair wrap after the shower, you save money on hairdressing, it is cooler on a summer night and there are a lot of other plusses that I have forgotten.
  • @Blossom1961 thank you. It's not handfuls but enough to have me bawling my eyes out, this sucks ..
  • Hi @Loobylou Mine started hurting three days after the first treatment but didn’t come out in handfuls until day 21. It may have started coming out slowly before that but I didn’t take much notice until the handfuls happened. Once it all came out the pain stopped so I was grateful once it was gone. Sounds like your body just wants to get on with it!
