Hair loss on crown
i have had 3 of 4 AC treatments (still have 12 Docetaxol plus Herceptin and Perjeta to go) and have been using the scalp cooler with great effect. But I have lost the hair on my crown and it is starting to become noticeable. Although I wear a baseball cap outside for sun protection. I’m starting to get a bit self-conscious and think I would like to wear something inside too but am not sure what as I still have shoulder length hair everywhere else... I could get away with a Santa hat but only for a week!

- It is a real challenge to deal with hair loss. I too had bra length thick hair prior to chemo. The ice caps do make some difference, as a friend of mine used one and had some thinning around the crown. I had some support with haircuts before I lost the lot and then a wig. My friend learned some ways of tying her hair up over the thinning bit and used scarves around her top knot have until her hair thickened back up again.

I plan to take a pony tail, though. I'm booked into one of the Look Good Feel Better (?) sessions in a couple of weeks and I want to make sure they get my true colours! - Too much hair fell out and the mess was crazy. I was over it so went to the local hipster barber shop and a nice young man called Jason buzzed it off. They made me a big stiff gin and tonic (only booze since Xmas) which I sipped as the hair fell. It was a memorable Friday afternoon.
- Yeah, decision time coming. I think it's thinning just a bit too much, now. There's still a good coverage but can I be stuffed? Keeping an eye on it and might make a deal of taking it off on the weekend. Have to get my girls practicing turbans.
- I just got a heap of bananas from the cheap shop and eBay. But I didn’t use the cold caps. Just shaved my potato head instead. Lol. But glad they are working for you love. Margie. Xx
