hair after chemo

Yes, mine did start coming back with loads more grey than colour. As it got longer the colour did come and now the grey is back to where it usually is and not such a lot of it. My first lot of hair was curly and like steel wool so it got a cut pretty quick. The next lot is wavy so I am growing that a bit longer. Looks a bit unruly but hey its winter time coming and I like some on my neck and around the ears so I am leaving it for now. The front isn't growing and I suspect there might be a bit of baldness going on there. A fair bit still falls out (maybe due to Tamoxifen) but for joy, its only the grey ones. :)

Hi Anabelle, I finished my chemo late January and my hair has started to grow back quite dark as well - a good couple of shades darker than before.  I can't wait to dye it!  It's not long enough yet to know whether I will have chemo curls (previously I had very fine, straight-ish hair) but it definitely feels thicker.  I was so happy when it started to come back, although I'm still quite self-conscious so continue to wear my headcovers and will purchase a wig this week before I head back to work - I'm really feeling the colder weather now too.  I was lucky to not completely lose my eyebrows and they have returned they way they were previously.  My eyelashes were very sparse but have completely grown back now, just not as long as they were previously.

My sister-in-law is a hairdresser and apparently our short hair is very trendy right now :smile: Hubby gave my hair a very short clip when it started getting very patchy - I looked like a baby chicken with tufts of hair everywhere.  It's now much more even growing back.

Honestly, it's great just to have hair again and be past the awful chemo.

Keep rocking that hair growth ladies - we'll get there.

My hair fell out 10 years ago due to alopecia. I wore scarves and beanies and funky hats. Everyone felt sorry for me because they thought I had cancer. Friends and acquaintances who couldn't cope with this possibility avoided me before I even had a chance to tell them otherwise.  Eventually some hair grew back, it was soft and fluffy and white. Now I have breast cancer! My mother always said I did things back to front.

Thanks @Hulos lol you know I gave up with false eye lashes as I found it was so difficult with no eyelashes as a base, they'd slide off! So a TIP I used black eye liner across the top of the lids and nobody could tell you didnt have eyelashes ;) 

I had light brown hair with a bit of grey now I have dark and white hair....so looks silver and a head of curls. 

Hello, I had long brown wavy hair before chemo, my hair started growing back light and curly but now it is probably a shade or two darker (all natural),  I also lost my eyebrows and eyelashes. Eyelashes have come back but eyebrows are very thin and patchy and have also lost the curls and have decided to keep hair short. I am four and a half years past chemo. I guess part of the new me.  :)

Hi, my new hair is also very grey especially at the top, sides and back darker. It is growing and I can just pinch it. 
My last chemo was on 2 May, so I am hoping it will grow quicker now.
I have no eyebrows, but it really doesnt bother me as i  use a brow pencil  when going out.. No eyelashes either, used false eye lashes at times,they look good if I  can put it on without  hands shaking. I use an eyeliner  and that seems to give my face a better look and always with lippy.

 I  had light brown hair with someone foils , that me and the new me are two different person  :(

@LMK74 thank you x ohh yes eyelashes fell out about 5 weeks into taxol. Once treatment finishes they grow back within weeks but mine fell out again which can happen but they came back

Melclarity,you look gorgeous. The pics are interesting. Can't wait for all treatment to be over. My eyelashes are starting to fall out. Did you lose those as well?.
