If I was you...I'd get my GP back onto it. Nausea and vomiting can be managed and controlled in so many ways. Strangely enough, the bucket I bought for chemo, remains a vomit virgin. However, I have other medical issues, including a brain aneurysm which was surgically clipped) which made me violently ill. I'm very allergic to Maxalon, so that was never on the table for me. Ondansetron wafers were good for me, so long as the nausea was not severe as for me, the taste of the dissolving wafer under my tongue, gave me the heaves. If I took it (the stronger one), before I actually got the heaves, I was okay. You can also ask your doctor for some anti emetic (anti vomiting) suppositories....a bit more yucky to use, but work a charm. I also find when nauseous, to drink only the tiniest of sips of ice cold weak lime cordial whilst lying down, using a very bendy straw. Once I moved my head, the world would start spinning, the saliva would gush to my mouth, and the heaves would start. Chipped ice in the hospital was also great, but at home, I wrapped a bloody big ice block in the middle of a single piece or surgical gauze and tied a knot to keep the ice block in. That I kept in a bowl, next to my pillow and holding the wad of gauze to suck the ice prevented frozen fingers and escaped ice blocks in the bed. I hope some of these tips from a puke professional will give you some relief...big hugs...Ally.
