Day 3 post op

I had right breast lift and reduction on Friday. I can't believe the amount of pain . Endone just dulls it a bit- no improvement. I see the dr tomorrow. It feels like he's stitched it to my ribs. I can't stand straight without it pulling and hurting. Every step is jarring to my breast. I can only sleep on my back , so after a while it aches. Headaches and pain , can't see past that at the moment. Had an injection yesterday for vomiting and hopefully this will help with the rehydration and get rid of the headache. Just feel so miserable, crying in pain and can't see the positive at the moment. Wish I'd left it be. After all the mastectomy , radiation and chemotherapy plus numerous other operations and procedures , why does it still have to hurt ? Ive had enough ??

  • Thanks all,

the pain has lessened a bit, not enough to be bearable with the new medications. Going to see him tomorrow to have a local injection to the sight to numb it. Only temporary but may stop the pain cycle he said. So , more pain to stop the pain! Not looking forward to that. My advice to all ladies is make sure your ps is extremely good at his job to start with and you don't have to go through what I'm doing. Thanks for all the kind words ladies xx

  • Oh Beppie so sorry it hasn't been the result you wanted. I have read some of your blogs and I know you haven't been very happy. It is bad enough going through bc treatment and not being happy with the end result. Sending you a hugxx

Oh Beppie, that's awful that you're having a difficult time of it. You probably need to talk with your surgeon and find out if you should be in this level of pain, they may need to give you alternative pain management. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ????????

  • Thanks Barb,

i did get different pain relief and if it doesn't work he's going to give me a local to relieve the pain and cut the pain cycle. The shape isn't wonderful but that's what I'm left with . Just have put up with what I've got , unfortunately .thanks xx

  • Thanks. The pain is from where he anchored the breast to the rib to get the height for the lift. Hopefully with different drugs the pain will go. Doesn't look much like a nice breast but I've resigned myself to it now. This was the 4th attempt to get it in symmetry . Way too much breast near my arm and none where the cleavage should be. So disappointed especially after seeing everyone else's gorgeous breasts post reconstruction.

  • Hi Beppie it is the pits when you feel so bad. We are told about what to expect but sometimes it is a lot worse than we think it was going to be. I hope your doc visit goes better tomorrow. Sending you a hug xx

  • Hello Beppie. I'm so sorry that you feel so miserable. It's very hard to know whether one is making the right decision about treatment sometimes isn't it? You really can't know how it will turn out until after it's done and it's too late. I wish someone could reassure you that your pain and misery will be short-lived. I can't do that because I haven't experienced anything like it. I know I've been really lucky. I hope you are honest with the doctor tomorrow about how bad it is, and that he will prescribe some pain relief that will be effective. Though I don't know you I'll be thinking of you. All the best. I hope you feel better soon.
