Breast pain still 2 years after surgery

Hi Susan, I was surprised at the long term pain I felt in my breast after lumpectomy, and arm, torso, shoulder after losing lymph nodes. Pain on touching, wearing bras, breast movement in activity. I couldn't find a way to regain the confidence in physical intimacy. It lasted 8 years. I wish the medical team had prepared me better to expect it - or to assist me rather than surgical reg in PA hospital saying - 'at least you can use your arm'....I recently had double mastectomy - and the breast pain has gone - silver lining from that procedure. I think perhaps it just becomes part of life and we hope to stop noticing it. Wishing you a smooth journey.
