Arimidex
I have been reading through the blogs about Arimidex and found them very interesting. I have been on Arimidex for 6 months and up until 4 weeks ago, "side affects free" - until now that is.
I now have what appears to be the usual aches and pains in the legs and numbness in the hands, tiredness and headaches, so I guess I didn't escape at all I am just like all my other Arimidex sisters.
I will have to mention this to my oc next visit, but as so many others have said before at least I am here reading the experiences of others. It does help.

- KathleenTMemberHi Ruth I'm feeling for you, dragging the bags round with you. We're you given little pocket-type bags to sling over your shoulders to help getting round? And also, have you had visits from the home nurses, & do you have HACC doing your housework for you? They were some of the things I was grateful for when I had my mastectomies (12 mths apart) maybe it was only because I am single and lived alone (still do-much prefer it!) Hope you're getting on ok. - KathleenTMemberDear Finita So glad to read your biopsy results were good. It is often good to have a really good cry. It is a tremendous release. I remember when I was half considering breast reconstruction, my surgeon sent me to another surgeon, whose method was different fro hers, & she thought would be more appropriate for me. I went all the way to another town, a kind friend took me, & he said he'd rather not do it-for many reasons, not the least of which was because I has some secondary mets in my back, high blood pressure, & some other stuff. This was his opinion. I went home & had a big cry. I think it was more out of frustration. There was one surgeon telling me I could have a breast rec, but a diff way to the way she did it, I went back to her, she read his remarks, said they were all "valid reasons" , then proceeded to tell me we could do it her way! I was so angry-especially the way it was done. I was in a regional area, so there was a McGrath nurse supporting me through my journey as well. I'll never forget the day-the McGrath nurse came out and and asked me if I'd reconsider reconstruction my surgeons way. I said definitely not, & that my next op would be on my hip. So then I went into the surgeons room with the nurse, & the surgeon was quite put out, angry even, that I'd decided not to have one! I mean really-my body-my decision! I confronted the McGrath nurse later about the tension during the appt, & the surgeons off-handedness with me. She didn't agree, & stuck by the surgeon all the way! Dontcha just love the "system" sometimes! Sorry, I went on a bit. So glad you are all good, & even more glad we have this forum to air our experiences. Would love to hear from others who've had similar experience during their journey. Hugs to all Love from Kathleen. XxxSign in to react to this post
Hello Finita,
I am so glad to hear that your biopsy results were good. It must be a big relief and it is only natural for you to cry and release that tension. I thought I posted here Yesterday but can't see my comments. I am still dragging my drain bottles around after my masectomy. I have to see the Surgeon on Thursday. All the best to you. Love, Ruth xxx

Hi Finita
Thanks for sharing your good news! It's such a relief and the constant roller coaster makes us emotional so don't be hard on yourself for crying - it's good to let it out sometimes!
Best wishes, Kim

Hi ladies, just to let you know that this morning I got the the all clear for the core biopsy . I was so happy, and yet this afternoon I found myself crying,,,I can only guess that it was all due to build up tension.
Love you all

Hi ladies, I hope that you are all doing well, or as well as can be expected. Last monday I had an ultrasoud and as there was no change from the last one I had 3 months ago, they did a core biopsy, so now here we go again with the waiting game. I must add that i am a little nervous and anxious...'all quite normal' I tell myself, and as that doesn't seem to work all that well, iIthen move on to Doris Day song...QUE SERA, SERA, WHAT EVER WILL BE , WILL BE , etc...and that at least makes me laugh . anyway, I will be letting you all know the results sometime next week or the week after .
Sending a truck load of hugs for all you beautiful girls,
Finita xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sign in to react to this post Thanks Finita and Pollyanne58 for your lovely comments. My Son (who is now 40) has A.D.H.D. and his Doctor used to tell me that I was a very strong Woman because he said most Women would turn to drink or drugs in the same situation but that I just kept on going. Until then, I never thought I was because I am very quiet and felt insignificant. I can be determined and stand up for what is right and have been told that I am strong a couple of times before. I just look for the light at the end of the tunnel., never thinking of giving up. I guess it's a good thing. Thanks for my prayers. I am disassociated from my Siblings for religious reasons, but I am very fortunate to have a lot of good Friends and the support of all you lovely Ladies as well. I do miss my Siblings and love them so much but I can never go back to something that I lost faith in growing up. So, thank you all for being there and listening to all my troubles. I really appreciate your support and am here with a listening ear if you need to vent at any time. Love, Ruth xx

Hi Ruth,
I just want to say that you are a true inspiration to us all...here you are with your back ache , no energy and still socializing with your friends under such incredible circumstances . You are a pillar of strength and very appreciative of your good fortune for having such good friends and family , it is no wonder that God is looking over you ...you are beautiful ! . I will also be asking a favour of our Australian Saint Mary Mackillop ( Mary of the Cross) to pray for you and all of us BC sisters. Myself like your cousing always feel an inner peace after praying .
All my love

My thoughts are with you and all the other lovely Ladies on this site. XxSign in to react to this post
