I'm often wide awake during the wee hours, but I don't get up to the computer or else the cats will think it's daytime and beg for food, attention and take it in turns to dig their way to Nepal in the sandtrays. I do, however, take my knitting with me to the bedroom and am often knitting away at two or three in the morning. I find it helps to create a sort of 'white noise' to block out the nighttime mental tennis of what if this...what if that and even the more mundane things. I complicated lace pattern with lots of knit this purl that, slip this, drop that, f**k this, f**k that keeps the mind off those things for me.
