The Funny Things
I thought we should have a thread about things that are so absurd about survivorship they shoot right beyond being depressing and just make us laugh, and of course for the things that are just FUNNY.
It might be something legitimately hilarious, maybe something upsetting that you've started laughing at for one reason or other, an experience related to survivorship that you just think was funny in an awkward or revealing way, whatever your take is.

- Harvey1903MemberA bit off track, but after chemo my thoughts are a bit astray. Went to get out the vacuum cleaner and said I'll get out the lawn mower??
- Blossom1961Member@Annie C Who knows WHAT @arpie is looking at so intently. Some of those shirtless fishermen are pretty titillating

@arpie
Oh dear Twinnie
You could at least read something more titillating at bedtime! - arpieMemberI would need 'at least' that with my 'better half' @kmakm - as he has involuntary athletic jerks all night (every 30 seconds) that precludes us from sharing a bed at home! :( In our campervan (VWT4) .... it is almost impossible to stay far enough apart (even tho a Queen Size Bed) to have a good sleep. When camping - if your sleep is stuffed - so is your holiday!! :(
If I am going on a Fishing Camping Holiday - I now try & arrange my hubby to be with his brother for the weekend!! Then I can just have the camper with the yak & me!! - DearBMemberOh my gosh you ladies are hilarious. I was sitting here actually laughing out loud!!! Thanks for the laughes
- kmakmMemberNow I could possibly be persuaded by something like this... ;)
- CarmelSMemberHusband & myself are heading off again this year, off to the Googs Track & round about SA for the school holidays in April with 2 other vehicles. Camping all the way. But we don't rough it by any stretch of the imagination. We have beds & doonas in our tent. We are generally set up with coffee on in 15 -20 minutes. Husband thinks he's funny to tell people we are quick to set up tent etc in 15 mins ........after 30 mins arguing where to park truck & which way to face tent !!! now days I try to not comment on truck parking (unless I am driving when we stop & then its where I stop.)
In July we head off till November camping all the way with one other vehicle, through Qld across NT & WA to Broome & Derby back to Purnululu & down the Canning Stock Route. Not many toilets out there, but plenty of trees to hide behind.
I am getting excited about getting a truck with a camper on the back in the next year or two.
Carmel - AfraserMemberOur parents took us camping a lot when we were kids - can still smell wet tent! My last camping foray was in Kakadu - preprepared tents (with flooring and real beds) and formal dinner ready on our arrival each night at the campsite. That kind of camping I can do!
- BlackWidowMemberNever too old @SoldierCrab - just we are maybe more discerning. My first go at proper camping in the bush (with the spade to dig the hole and hang the loo paper on - and sharing water for washing) was when i was 50. It was OK but I hated the swag idea !!!
I reckon something with a roof and walls and even air con is more suitable now, even the most basic of cabins ...... - SisterMemberI always wanted to do that @zoffiel but never had anyone who wanted to do it with me - unfortunately I have the small problem of not really being a horserider.
