Immune system lowered

Hi Everyone,

My oncologist transferred me to Aromasin mid April. I had been on Tamoxifin then Letrozole (which did not agree with me at all) previously.

Since changing to Aromasin my immune system seems to be very low. In the last 4 weeks I have had a chest infection, a cold, laryngitis and finally tested positive for Covid last Sunday. I'm normally very healthy and maybe catch a small sniffle once a year. 

Has anyone else found themselves in the same situation and how have you dealt with it? I'm not dealing with it very well. I only need to look at someone and I seem to get sick.

    Hi Cath62,

    Thank you. I'm trying to do all the above with not a lot of success!. I've emailed my oncologist but hadn't thought about contacting my breast care nurse. I'll give her a call. 🙂

    I just wondered if taking Aromasine lowered my immune system. I guess I'm trying to find a cause and wondered if anyone else had the same issue.  x

    Hi nicmaree, it's a bad time of year so lots around. My tips are wear a mask in busy places, ask friends not to visit if sick or a cold, if out eat outside. Sanitise or wash hands regularly. I use salty water gargles too to help and at the first sign of anything dose up on cold and flu, rest or go to your doctor for help to get over the illness.  Lastly have a chat to breast care nurse or oncologist too.
