Bugger, bugger, bugger
Just 2 months ago I was feeling really fit and healthy and celebrating 6 years clear. Now not sure what is ahead.
This week I have had a hip ultrasound and CT scan of lumbar spine to investigate increasing pain in lower back and pelvis. I have mild hip bursitis and mild disc compression but the CT scan also picked up ‘something’ in my pelvis. The radiologist has recommended a bone scan.
I have had increasing pain especially at night. Yesterday I saw a physio who is very concerned as in her opinion my pain is not explainable from a mild disc compression and very mild hip bursitis.
I am seeing my GP for a bone scan referral tomorrow. Hopefully I can get an answer before the weekend. Am in too much pain to do what I normally do to keep busy in these situations - go for a walk, cook, clean etc.
Bugger, bugger, bugger! Trying not to think too far ahead and it will be what it it will be but I am really feeling like ‘I know’.

- TonyaMMemberHi Deanne, that’s great news! My GP is over cautious and sends me for tests at the drop of a hat which scares the hell out of me.But I prefer that than someone flippant about my health. So you can truly celebrate now, knowing cancer is well behind you (till the next scare!)Take care.xx
- kmakmMemberYay!!!! :*
- iserbrownMemberPleased to read for you @Deanne
A meltdown is totally understandable as it is the memory of what we have been through and the concern that it may present again and we all hope it doesn't
Take care - primekMemberFabulous news. :)
- AfraserMemberEveryone was being thorough and that’s a good thing, but your reactions are perfectly normal. One time I had a suspicious lump my (cautious, not given to off the cuff reassurances) surgeon said he though it would all be fine - and finally it was. I’ve believed him ever since!
- DeanneMemberYes @Afraser, unfortunately the physio (with the best of intentions) really worried me by ringing me and saying they had found something in the CT scan and that a bone scan should be done considering my symptoms and history. Then the doctor had her receptionist ring to request that I make an appointment and that worried me even more. If the report had been completed when I saw my GP for the results the first time then I would have never been so worried. By the time I saw the GP again I had myself pretty anxious.
All good now and it is reassuring that everyone was being thorough and now I know there is nothing sinister behind my pain. :) - AfraserMemberExcellent news. It’d be nice not to go through the worry at all, but still a good outcome.
