What a bummer that they implant has ruptured annette! Do you know what caused the rupture?
Now you can join the 'Flat Chat' group - I believe they have before & after pics (some from straight up surgery & others from removal of implants.)
I hope that you are able to get a nice tidy, flat, aesthetically pleasing closure xx
Ask the surgeon for that!
Wishing you all the best for the removal & recovery!
Take care

Thank you Arpie,
Can I tell you though Im pretty scared. And joining the Flat Chat group is making me emotional.
I think the rupture happened when I got bumped on the left side playing with kids.
I know I’m doing the right thing but its making me want to cry.Its pretty heavy going through this.
I guess its all part of another pathway journey with BC.
I got through it last time. I think Im scared cos there’s no one around me in person who I can hug and they get it.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words.

Being scared is 100% normal annette as It is such a massive decision to make - it is also a very emotional decision xx. Sending Big Virtual hugs xx.
But remember, those puppies aren't doing you any favours, just now - and there have also been incidences where the ruptured content has leaked into the flesh and caused other issues too. :(
Consider giving the Helpline a call & have a confidential chat with the Mods xx

Also, consider checking out Charlotte Tottman's podcasts - they are very good & very easy to listen to. She is a specialist BC Counsellor who was diagnosed 5+ years ago (about the same time as me!) and she had a double mastectomy and chose to remain flat.
Prior to her own diagnosis, she thought she 'knew it all' as she'd been counselling women with BC for MANY years ... but with all her own decision making & facing her own mortality she realised that she really knew very little about the emotional side of the BC 'procedure' from diagnosis to recovery & afterwards until she'd experienced it herself.
She had the same fears as us - and she is VERY good at talking about them & how to not allow it rule your life xx (A copy of her article is below too - start from the bottom one & work up - they've loaded back to front! LOL. Each is numbered 1 to 5.)
She has 2 Seasons, so I would suggest you start with Season 1 first - as she takes you thru all stages of her own treatment, from diagnosis on - You can listen to all of them, or you can cherry pick the ones you'd like to listen to xx

Where abouts are you (roughly - State & town) Annette? We may have members nearby who you could catch up with you for a coffee & a chat and that all important hug xx (I am a very huggy person - as a hug is so much more than just a 'hug'!! It is support, acceptance, calming, and reassurance, all in one!)
Take care, you've got this xx
