Hi,Has anyone found a pretty bralette for larger sizes. Im 16+. Im a bit tired of sports bra. Not ready for prosthetics so those bras are out. Ive sometimes resorted to the utilitarian do up front mastectomy bra. Meh. I can sometimes get away with a pretty camisole but one side of my chest swing about a bit. Not ideal for social occassions. I bought a bonds one which is ok. Where are the pretty ones? A walk in Bras and Things is pretty pointless. Where are the mastectomy bras in there? Call themselves a bra specialist....Ok so this is not the most pressing problem. Still

My breast care nurse suggested one website she said it’s good and reasonable. I have not bought a bra from it but it’s looking good. . Hope it helps. 😀

I've found it much easier these days to step in and out of crop tops rather than get things over my head. No matter the exercise I do, I just don't have the flexibility to manage over the head now.

Update: im trialling a few things. First one I received in post is a yoga crop top. I liked the look of this. You still couldnt wear with a more sheer work top. I was skeptical because it has a shelf bra and might be tight but no, quite comfy. Has the usual foam sort of cups, easily removed, not sure a prosthetic would fit and i have yet to try it.

I am with you @MicheleR. I too have resorted to the 'do up front but no shape things' as the local bra fitting specialist shop just won't get any stock in (think she is nearing retirement) ! I have hunted high and low for a pretty camisole to use with my prosthesis but they are not around that I can find. I am about to try the internet but sizes can vary soooooo much ..... Let us know if you find anything.

Hi @MicheleR Not sure where in SA you are but there are some good places. I believe the shop in Marden Shopping Centre are excellent - someone told me that she is willing to put the closed sign on so mastectomy customers have privacy but I can't verify that. There's also a shops at Blackwood and Burnside that carry a range of products. SA Mobile Breast Care will come to your home with Amoena products and they have regional days - Broken Hill, Port Pirie, Whyalla, etc. If you don't want full-on prosthetics, you can use a soft-form or I think one of the community organisations down at Victor make knitted knockers. Do be aware though, particularly if you're a bit larger breasted, it's important to balance the weight to avoid back issues.

Ok. I got two of the bralettes i ordered from the busted tank. The one in the picture and another which is more brasized (im wearing so couldnt take a good photo). The one im wearing i was impressed by the softness of the material. My first impression wearing it is that there is not a whole lotta support for lefty. We shall see. Ill post a picture of it later and report on comfort. I think its a bit nicer looking than the one in photo.

Thankyou @MicheleR. Not sure they would be comfy for this oldie as I prefer the natural fibres. I will check their website though.

Its from Dharma Bums. Strange name. Made out of recycled plastic apparently PET.

Ive worn for 2 days, very comfy. Did cause a bit of swearing this morning trying to get into it but thats a flexibility issue. The one i bought has cross over straps on the back which id probably prefer straight but cant complain.

@Sister my shoulder on the surgery side is stuffed I think, not just to do with bc either. Maybe I should try that.

@MicheleR there is an Australian online one https://www.kykthelabel.com/pages/about-us that have crop tops that look nice. I haven’t bought one though, I have trouble with putting that type on over my head. I’ve bought a front zipper one from Best and Less, and target had one that does up at the front. Functional not pretty.
