Like you, I finished treatment in October, and have recently had my post-treatment blood tests and check-up with the oncologist. As well as doing a full blood count (FBC) to check on general health, a tumour marker test showed that the level had come down and was within the normal range. As a result, I am now on a 6 monthly check-up, and if that goes well, an annual check only.
Chemo can be hard on the body, so the FBC kidney/liver/calcium/etc. tests are important as a guide to your general well-being, and I think of the CA15.3 as a watchdog.
