Taxol 11, Herceptin 4

After an early start today, finally home. Taxol 11, one more to go yay! Felt off today at chemo. Rash on hands is the worst it's been. Tried moo goo and now Palmers cream. Went away and came back with a vengeance about an hour later. Luckily Taxol finishes in time for the school holidays, so hopefully we will get away for a week up in Mildura.

  • Hi Vanessa, yes one more to go! First let me say that the AC side effects were stronger every three weeks. However the Taxol side effects have been steadily increasing over the 11 weeks so far. I haven't had any nails fall out. But they are very tender and sore both fingers and toes. My fingertips are very sore. The rash is bad, I tried Lucas paw paw cream yesterday. My skin is very dry including eyelids and eyes, body aches and sore nose. However by Thursday I am back at work doing 2-3 nights at the moment. Tips: Moo Goo cream for face and hands (dry skin), any brand single dose eye drops for dry eyes, Phenergan or Claratyne for rash (new tip off the oncology nurse), and/or Palmers cream or Lucas paw paw cream for rash/dry skin. Panadol or Nurofen for body aches and headache. Lots of rest on Monday to Wednesday. Cheryle :)

  • Hi sweetieSorry to hear that you are having a bad time with it all. I had a horrible rash from a skin reaction to the dressings the hospital was using when I had a picc line put in.I went and bought Macarthurs Paw Paw cream. It was instant. The rash healed in a matter of about 1- 1/2 week.Maybe try that and let me know how you get on.Hooray for you, that you are finally on the home stretch to finishing chemo. Good on you.Love Julie XX
