Tamoxifen and ovarian cysts

Hi. Just wanted to chat about being on Tamoxifen and having ovarian cysts. I have been on Tamoxifen for almost 5 years. I have discovered through pelvic ultra sounds that I have a cyst on each ovary. Fluid filled simple cysts. Bugger. Am in chemo endured menopause at the age of almost 40. Will be speaking to specialist this week. Can't believe that I now have to deal with this grrrr. Hearing any other stories about this would be helpful. Ta. Kirrily

  • Thanks for your comment. Yes they are not too small so may have to have a bit of a procedure but that's cool. Better out then in re cysts. I went and found a Gyno and she is great. Got a referral from my GP and now I have another long standing relationship. All good. You take care. K
  • I think if they are small cysts they just leave them cos often they burst of their own accord.I had an ovarian cyst the size of a golf ball and had to have it removed(wasn't on Tamoxifen at the time).I've been on Tamoxifen for 3 years now and a recent pelvic ultrasound showed I had cysts in the lining of the uterus. My oncologist just said that's normal when you are on Tamoxifen and they are harmless and will go away when I come off Tamoxifen. It still worries me though.Good luck with the specialist and I hope you don't need any operations.
