I’m having my surgery on the 10th Feb to remove my ovaries and Fallopian tubes. I’m 42 and my cancer was hormone positive. I have chosen to go down this pathway as my mother was diagnosed before Christmas and whilst my grandmother did not have BC, her mother did - in both boobs. My surgery will be keyhole - in in the morning, home in the afternoon. In addition to reducing my risk, I didn’t want to have to deal with monthly injections for the next 5-10 years.
i already have osteoporosis and I’m already on the menopausal journey so I don’t think my side effects will get any worse. I just hope I’m making the right decision.
