Itch Hives on Day 8 after Chemo, Feeling Warm Sleeping at Night

Hi all, I have had 3 rounds of TC with Herceptin so far. I do feel that I feel warmer than normal though I am not having fever, especially with cycle 3. On the 8 day after chemo, I broke out in massive itchy hives for a few days. I believe it is due to the Taxocete. QV/Cetaphil helped thank God! Steriods helped a bit I guess but anti-histimines (Claratyne and Phenergan) did not seem to help so it was concluded to be Taxocete rather than me eating something wrong.

Has anyone had this sort of experience? Itchy rash break out as well as feeling really warm sleeping at night? I am someone who's dread of the cold but even with aircon on, I feel warm. Even my pee feels warmer! (NO FEVER and otherwise feeling well).

My oncologist never seems to have an answer.

Thanks.
• Oooh ...definetly a hives rash , which can be stress too...well the rash would make you stressed! Steroids are probably best to take it down...very low doses and steroid cream directly to it. Calamine in between but your Dr best to solve.
  • I only had it on my hands and feet when I had 2 ct scans in one month and had a reaction to the dye. Agree, itchy as! Things like that can also be brought on with stress, so take things easy and look after you. <3
  • Thanks Ladies. The rashes finished their rage last Saturday and is so good to be human again. But it was so frightening I thought I was going to die actually!

I am so thankful i had my friend who had worked in allergy clinic before to help me through or my misery would have been tripled. She was the one who saw the photos and concluded they are not hives but drug allergy rash. But boy they were itchy!!!
  • Hi @au0rei a lady I did chemo with had a rash all over, she was having Paclitaxol & Herceptin, they put it down to the Taxol. I had a rash on AC but not Taxol. There are so many ways it can affect us & so different.
  • @au0rei Hi there! I had a rash on my hands when I was on Taxol, but nowhere else. Nothing alleviated it at all, I think too if anti histimines dont help then maybe its not hives. Mine went away once treatment finished though, thankfully. I'd give your Oncology Unit a call and run it by them :) Hugs Melinda xo
