Can anyone tell me what the difference is with hormone blockers and why some are prescribed one type yet another a different one....is it to do with if one has already been through menopause ?
Generally you are prescribed the SERM's (selective oestrogen receptor modifiers) like Tamoxifen if you are premenopausal but that seems to be changing and a number of ladies who were premenopausal prior to chemo are being prescribed AI's (Aramotase inhibitors) which once were used for postmenopausal status. Confusing huh?
