Herceptin By Injection

This is Kathy from BCNA's Policy Team. You are on the ball! You are correct that Herceptin is now available in an injection format as well as by IV drip.The injection is called Herceptin SC (SC is short for subcutaneous - it is injected into the tissue under the skin of the thigh.)

Herceptin SC was listed on the PBS at the beginning of this month (1 April 2016), so is available for the cost of a PBS script fee. I am not sure which centres are already providing it and would suggest you phone your medical oncologist to ask if she/he is offering it. If not, ask for a referral to a medical oncologist or oncology centre that does offer it.
