Hair re-growth

I've just had my 3rd round of FEC today & after one more round - my treatment changes to Docetaxel & herceptin! My oncologist originally told me that the (epirubicin) drug in the fec combo was the one that will cause hair loss - so I'm curious if once my chemo changes to Doc & herceptin will my hair start to grow back?

  • I had AC for four rounds and then changed to Docetaxel and Herceptin. My hair fell out around day 13 of the first round of AC but it started to grow when I was on D & H. I finished three rounds of the Docetaxel on 24th June and I am now only on Herceptin. My hair is slowly slowly coming in. Can't say it's got any length more than a couple of centimetres on my head though so its slow. Other body hair is certainly back as well. I've heard some women say that their hair fell out again through Herceptin. Hope this isn't the case though. I guess it may depend on your particular hair whether it was thick or thin, whether it was fast growing before chemo???? Not sure whether this has helped you but it's my experience so far.
