Exemestane/Aromasin

Hi ladies anyone else on this experiencing lower back and hip pain?! I have had the stiff fingers and joints but this is new! When I sit or am in one position for any length of time I need bout 10mins to get moving! I’m 39 and have never had issues before so has to be the tablets?!
  • Different beast but I have had left lower back and hip pain since starting Tamoxifen.  There is a whole heap of us that sieze up after staying still for too long. Grrr

  • I've just had 6 months of Exemestane & had 'general aches & pains' - I found walking up stairs difficult and the aches in my hand joints (particularly the thumbs) continues to be painful & difficult - and I wobble a bit when I get up (but I also had some arthritis prior to getting BC.)  Getting up in the evening from the lounge chair can be tricky - very slow & using the arms to help me get up

I didn't notice specific hip or lower back pain tho.   I hope you are able to take something to lessen the pain & discomfort.  I take a couple of Arthrexin  (Indocid) at night, with my meal.  It just takes the 'edge' off the pain

I am currently on a 4 week break from Exemestane (1 week in) - to see if the hand aches in particular lessen, to indicate it IS the meds causing the pain, vs the original arthritis!

    All the best xx
  • I drive about 40km to school/work and back every day.  It sometimes takes me quite awhile to be able to get out of the car and then be able to totter off (and I mean totter).  Stiff ankles and heels (never knew that could be a thing) and pain in the coccyx from sitting.  I struggle with the tailbone when sitting down for too long at any time.  I'm on a different AI (Letrozole) and it has impacted joints, and I suspect, soft tissue around them.  It has also brought on arthritis in my fingers and neck in an amazingly short time.
  • My personal challenge is to not make 'those noises' as I get up after sitting for anything longer than five minutes. Looking like an aged crone at 52 is bad enough but I'll be darned if I sound like one as well.
  • Having said that yesterday  -  I had an amazing pain in my lower back for most of the afternoon!  It is fine now!!  Thank God!

Yep - 'totter' is a good word for it, @Sister  - I totter all the time now!!

I groan all the time now, @kmakm
