Decided to have a holiday from Tamoxifen over Christmas

Happy new year everybody. 
Last day of my Tamoxifen holiday.  Bugger! . Bone aches are still there but have eased a tremendous amount.  Iguess it would take a bit longer drug free for that to sort itself out properly.  Hot flushes, still there but  less intense.  Thankyou Chemo. Grrr. No mood swings or tears either.

Love life much improved as well YAY!  (OK You probably didin't need to know that bit.)  I seriously feel pretty much my normal self again. 
However it is most definitely this drug causing the brain malfunction.  Have had zero issues since day 4 of being off it.  Even managed to kick everyones butt in trivia last night and that was after a bottle of wine lol. 

 Not sure what to do about this.  Change drugs?  My other option apparently is Zoladex and Exemestane. Hysterectomy?  Say "bugger it" and stop taking drug,  feel normal and hope and pray it doesn't come back. (probably not the smartest idea but it's a thought).

@Brenda5 a few days wouldn't help to be honest, the Oncologist said it takes a good 6 weeks off the medication to get a true evaluation. Mind you I noticed within 2 weeks, but it did at least take that long, that was off Arimidex. x 

I tried with my GP I really did but he refuses to allow any break off Tamoxifen even for a few days so I am just stuck with it. 

Hi kezmusc ,  Im wondering if we have the same surgeon as I was told to " "suck it and see by him yesterday when we discussed my starting Tamoxifen lol   But your both right as its the only way to know how its going to affect you !

Hopefully you wont have too much problem.  It's just one of those suck it an see things I guess.  Effects everyone differently like the rest of it.  XOXO

@Barney74 honestly there are more side effects from treatment than these meds. Majority of my symptoms were aftermath of chemo not Arimidex at the time. Tamoxifen i had no probs 4yrs but i only had radiation too at that time and was pre menopausal . X Melinda 

Great .im really not looking forward to this drug i will be on very shortly. 
So many side effects .
I will be due back to work mid feb so i need to find my normality as much as normal.

Tamixofen and tramedol - yuk - what a crappy combo! Tramedol is horrible anytime.  Get some better drugs (haha). You will relate when I sometimes describe the tiredness and brain fog to pregnancy - except that with pregnancy it goes away. Yeah, sucks when you willingly take these shitty things and really don't know the outcome. Take care and be kind to yourself.

I'll try taking it at night when I start back on it again.  Ouch for the spinal fusion and knee replacement that close. They have given me tramedol for pain relief but does nothing but make me tired.  I could probably handle the aches, pains and the rest but the brain malfunction seriously gets me down at times. Geez, I couldn't even keep up with a game of UNO with the kids at one stage. Yeah, I understand the "new normal" thing.  I just want my old normal back  as I am sure does everyone. Just annoying to be taking something that makes you feel so shitty without any guarantees that its actually going to work.

Hi there. Have been on Tamoxifem for over 12 mths now. Have Met B C that has gone to the bones.  I find that taking it at night is better as some of the side effects are experienced when you sleep.  I get the sweats, bone pain etc, but I am still on Targin as unfortunately other things don't quite cut it for pain relief. Had a Spinal fusion and knee replacement within a couple of months of each other.  There are other hormone meds that might suit you better, I was on another for 2 months but changed and this is better (but not good). This was of small comfort but was told that you find a "new Normal". Sort of agree...damn.
