It is reassuring for me to hear that your surgeon advised you to do it too.
My surgeon isn’t advising a mastectomy but she will give me one if I want one. she said statistically it won’t affect my risk of dying one way or the other. It will be more likely to recur if I don’t have one. But if it does recur she said they can give me mastectomy then.
My lumps were under 50mm (just) and I think I was very lucky not to have any cancer found in sentinel node.
