- tigerbethMember@Joannie sorry you are feeling alone , as said above I'm sure that's not the intention of anyone .
I get what your saying , waiting to start my own path on these drugs with a touch of trepidation , but what will be will be I guess .
I know when I first found this great place I read many posts that were disturbing , frightening , raw , horrifying , sad & eye-opening all before I knew my plan .
I know this made my brain race ahead at a million miles , leaving me scared witless !
i guess I learned to filter the info , the emotional stuff , the uplifting posts , & use it all when I needed .
I love the comaraderie here & look forward to reading about peoples happy times but also shed a tear over others struggles .
@ Joannie please pm me if you'd like to chat & I hope you have a great day & that your own side effects improve with time
Hugs xx - StorkMemberHi @Joannie I totally. respect your feebank, I have been a contributor for the past year and I have found the forum 99.9999 per cent helpful and very supportive in our battles with BC treatments, emotional upheavals and the prognosis for the future, occasionally I find some coments upsetting,
I have been on Tamoxifen for a year so far touch wood no major side effects
Stork - arpieMemberHi @Joannie - I think a lot of people are just mulling over how to respond, without turning it into an 'angry ant' thread ..... the pen, after all, CAN be more dangerous than the sword!
I think we all just need to pull back now & then & recognise just WHY the Forum is here in the first place ...... it is here to help & support each other in the battle of our life.Everyone is vulnerable to their emotions on any given day & they may just show it in different ways ... some post weekly, others daily, others more often ..
SO ... when posting - I think everyone just needs to have a thought about how their post may affect others .... particularly those newly diagnosed and yet to have surgery/chemo/rads & AI
Take care out there xx
This is what we are about ..... I pinched this from the Creative Corner ... Compassion, Caring, Courage, Kindness & a host of others ... and Friendship xx
Lifting people up, not putting them down. - SisterMemberSorry, @Joannie if you're feeling alone. I don't think anyone intends for that. I, personally, cannot comment on hormones therapies as I've yet to get there.

- melclarityMember@brightspace great post, thanks for sharing! look forward to hearing your results. xx
- brightspaceMemberThanks for starting this post
Yes we do have to get our big girl pants on and soldier on...try another AI if SE cause problems
Positives
We are very lucky to have available at a low cost a group of drugs that are beneficial to BC hormone positive patients.
The majority of us will have minor side effects and continue to take these drugs for many years.
For those who have been given AI therapy before sugery to shrink tumours perh aps have been given the option of having a lumpectomy instead of mastectomy
For me
AIs have allowed me a high quality of life as a metastatic patient
Diagnosed with DCIS and no node involvement the cancer did metastise to my lungs .(4years later).as I opted for mastectomy ther was no need to have chemo radiation and AI is not recomened if there is no node involvement
no tests yet can detect the micro cancer stage as it travels to lurk in parts of our body
But what BC patients with node involvement have is the AI option ...for some of you the cancer has travelled and is hibernating and AI hopefully will keep it in hibernation
Yes luck for me so far ...AI have shrunk the lung nodes ...its now 2 YEARS on Femara ..my scans are this week so i will be posting next week if Femara letrozole is not working I will be switched to another AI
All the best with your individual therapy
Bright in hope - lrb_03MemberThe big positive is that it's (hopefully) keeping the cancer away!!
Like many, I have side effects, but try to work around them. After all, I am here to moan about them if I can find someone to listen, and that's gotta be better than the alternative lol. Finding actual positives might be a step too far. Good post, though - melclarityMember@Joannie I think that's a fair comment, absolutely nothing wrong with a discussion, it's great to learn from each other and support. However, I think yes we don't always need a daily experience. x
