Aromatase inhibitors

I’ve started reading about this treatment as it has been recommended for me . One article firmly stated chocolate , alcohol and coffee were not recommended. Is that what you all understand?? I mean that seems quite drastic if it’s for ten years 😳

Do you think say a wine once a week would be ok? And I just love my one fresh brewed coffee in the morning. What are you doing if you are on this treatment ? I’d really love to hear your advice . Xx

  • I live for my coffee and will never give it up . I haven't heard that before about caffeine and chocolate.
  • That’s so good to hear your experiences . 😊 Thanks  for sharing .
I will have an appointment with the BS to go over which one I will be on in a couple of weeks .

  • No-one in the medical profession really promotes alcohol! Somewhere between abstinence and very moderate consumption is advocated.but I have been on an AI for over 5 years and no-one has ever mentioned coffee or chocolate. Clearly if you are consuming large amounts of either on a daily basis, it's not likely to do your health much good. But I have never heard that they should be totally avoided.
  • Haven't heard anything about any of that @Marakesh.  Regarding alcohol, the only thing I know is the guidelines for cancer - no more than 1 standard drink per day (I think) and preferably none at all.
