@Josephine66 - yes, all 3 - Breast Surgeon, Rad Onc & Onc ALL said the 1% likelihood of reduction in my particular case! Every case is different tho .... there is a program that they use that guesstimates your 'reduction of recurrence' relevant to your age, stage, etc of surgery and followup treatment.
As @Vangirl says - chat with your Onc & see what they reckon!
So ... I was post menopausal, caught early, clear margins, surgery & not in the nodes, had radiation ...... and they reckon that if I find it REALLY annoying, I can stop it - but so far, am keen to stick it for as long as I can, just now.
