Arimidex
been on Arimidex a year or so and sheesh the hot sweats , im menopausal or something all over again . I know its this or a raise in the risk of breast cancer recurrence but its still hard to deal with on top of everything else

- im getting a lot of hot flushes they arent really flushes i call them sweats some times dripping
- I didn't tolerate Arimidex well due to the sleeplessness. Same thing with Letrozole. I am now on Tamoxifen and doing much better. Have had the odd hot flush but they are quite intermittent.
- had my last cholesterol done last November 4.9 I'm waiting for my annual screening so when I see my oncol to get the results i will ask him about it all
- It seems you have to be on top off what tests you need to ask for, as Arimidex can also raise cholesterol levels. It isn't standard that oncologists order a full blood test, and also only a bone density scan once every two years. So glad that others here keep us informed of what we really need to ask the oncologists to keep on top of. But alas they don't like us to tell them their jobs. I am so over it all to be honest, and I go public so get a different oncologist each visit, and they are not all on the same page!
- my gp is keeping an eye on my liver too as I had non alcoholic fatty liver you would think onco's would know about it and keep a check sheesh
- My doctor took me off it and put me on tamoxifen but that was just as bad. They both damaged my liver, so off all of them now. It was only my GP who ordered the liver tests as well, not my onco.
