Anyone losing weight on Tamoxifen?
Some of you will know just how much Tamoxifen and I hate each other however, I may just have found one side effect that I like.
I had my little break off it over xmas but since starting back on it I seem to be losing weight for no apparent reason. About 10kgs in 3 mths,
Of course, I think the worst and run off to my gp. She has got to be getting sick of seeing me surely. Nope, not a listed side effect on her Dr google. But, she considers it to be a significant loss that needs checking out.
By now my brain has got me thinking that the chemo didn't work, its back and spread and I'm about to drop off the perch. LOL So I request a fully body CT.....hmmmm...she says "haven't you been exposed to enough radiation already? 1 CT =500 xrays! Wow.
I opt for the suggested full set of bloods instead. Everything perfect except for WCC which is still high for some reason, cholesterol dropped by half WTF it's never been this low. Maybe 2 good side effects???
I've only been able to find one old forum thread on breastcancer.org with a group of ladies saying they had the same. Everything else I can find is about gaining weight.
If it is the Tamox I might just put up with the rest of the shit side effects with a little less complaining!
So I thought I would just ask the wise and wonderful BCNA members. Any thoughts?
