6 months on Tamoxifen - Now Curette
Hi all, so luckily I have a 12 monthly appointment with my Gyno and telling him my BC story he tells me a women on Tamoxifen should have an annual internal ultrasound to check for among other things thickening of the uterus. Anything showing over 4mm should have a curette. If it proves it’s caused from Tamoxifen then a curette may not be needed often in the future. What’s your experiences please?

- No but I thought it was aimed at me as I was the previous post hence the reason for asking and asking a second time as you obviously missed the question.
I was and am well into the journey and don't need a second opinion. Hmm, suggesting that someone could get a second opinion is problematic?

Hope you've got yourself a little more sorted with all these side issues that turn in from starting out on the BC rollercoaster. As much as I hate having the curette I would rather know that everything is ok. I have a young sister that has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer so that I must mention at my next visit.
Hope the micro discectomy gave you relief - is it lower back or up further? I had a laminectomy a few years ago between C4 and C5 and it took what seemed like forever to get over it. It was a prolapse and severe nerve problems so hence it took a lot of healing

Hope it all goes well for all of you. - Thanks everyone. None of the bc team ever mentioned it. So last fortnight I had a micro discectomy of a disc and in a fortnight a curette! Think since the bilaterals last October I’ve had 4 different procedures done. Racking up the bills! Great and then I had a panic last week as I found a lump in my good side armpit that when I saw the Gyno said to him by the way can you feel this and he said sure and said best you go see your breast surgeon. Had a scan of the breast axilla at the same time as the endometrial scan. But can’t feel it now. Fun times.

- I had thickening of endometrium a few months after starting tamoxifen and had a cure. 12 months later and internal ultrasound found suspicious growth which turned out to be a polyp and more thickening. Polyp removed and another curate! Last year all was fine, hoping for the same in September when I go back for this year's checkup! Very hap pi y with my medical team tho, they keep a close eye on everything and communicate well with me and each other, so I'm very thankful for that.
- My last CT scan picked up something unusual in my uterus, just had ultrasound, now not happy waiting until Thursday to find out what else this shitfest has in store for me, I was on Tamoxifen for around 3 and a half years. I really need to get away.
