Hi Deanne
I am taking another break from the cleaning chores - after all these years I have learnt to 'pace' myself (!) so have been checking emails.
Thank you for your input. I agree. If there is a test to determine a woman's likelihood of getting hormone related breast cancer and any other types then surely they should at least be offered ?
I had my normal Breastscreen mammograms from the age of 50-62. At 60 all clear. At 62 they found 63% of my breast had high grade cancer so off it came - I was given no choice. Maybe they should offer annual screening ? Even if they charged a nominal fee for the 'in between' screening I do think most women who attend Breastscreen would agree to pay.
Your post, and those of the other ladies, have given me some questions to raise with the oncologist. Thank you.
As I have only just finished with the menopausal hot flushes I am not keen to start again !
If your female GP says it is OK and you trust her then leave the pelvic ultrasound - BUT - if you are like me and prefer to be proactive then have it early before something is really wrong. I had an emergency hysterectomy in 1997 so I guess this won't be an issue for me.
Have a happy day.
