Zoladex Implant

Hello Ladies, My Oncologist has just stopped my Tamoxifen due to severe bone pain. I think I am  on the hard road in this Cancer  journey as every step of the way has been difficult so far, I am sure there is some lesson in this for me somewhere. Anyhow I am having a month drug free before I start the Zoladex Implant. Is anyone on this drug and if so how have you been on it??     Kathryne

    Hi Kathryne,

Best wishes as you start this new treatment.  One thing I have learnt is everyones journey is different- and our reactions to this "little pills" are so mixed- some really exreme like yours.

I hope it goes well for you this time.

    Love Carolyn

    Hi Kylie,

Nice to hear from you.  I forgot about the Krill oil.  Still taking it  every morning along with the tamoxifen.  I am glad it helped you

  • Hi Kathryne

Thinking of you on your journey.

I didnt have too many symptoms while on Zoladex, only minor joint pain. It is hard to believe I am past the five year mark. Life is very busy. Having special friends makes the world of difference.

    Stay strong

  • Hi Cass

I was diagnosed in July 2007 and began Zoladex injections monthly for two years in December 2007 following mastectomy and chemo. After a few months my oncologist recommended I temporarily stop tamoxifen as I was feeling unwell using both treatments. When the Zoladex was complete, I resumed taking tamoxifen.

I am stopping tamoxifen shortly due to a very thick endometrial lining ( I had a curette in 2011 and 2012, and I am preparing to have a tram flap breast reconstruction in November.

    Best Wishes      Lisa x

  • Im on Zoladex and have been since may 2012.

No real side effects, but have noticed lately I get more hot flushes the week my Zoladex needle is due. I dont get the mood swings yet. I do have sore joints and they can get really stiff and sore if I dont move around frequently. But not sure if that is due to Zoladex or other treatments etc.

    Good Luck

  • Hi, I've been in both zoladex and tamoxifen for 14 months. I've found that I'm prone to being cranky and anxious, more so than i used to be and my onc says that zoladex is the culprit. Exercise and diet has really helped though, and I take time out for myself regularly.
