You can leave your hat on!
Hi Ladies,
I am thinking of taking my hat off, only thinking of it at this stage mind you. I do not look in the mirror with my head naked, I know precious me! But today I got up the nerve and took a photo of my head. There is no one I feel I can trust to see me this way and give me an honest answer, stay covered or come out of hiding. I have always been a hat wearing person thank goodness, I have one for every occasion and 3 wigs. Anyway below is my hair I was astonished to see I had so much, what do you all think? I finished chemo the last week of October. My hair was long and brown (chemically enhanced) so you can understand my feelings about not being me in the mirror but I could be a ne
w version of me. And the dilemma of do I colour again or embrace the silver. I was hoping for some colour and I have no sign of curls like some people do, but hey you have to swing with the punches!

I'm a big fan of hats, especially those little cloche hats that were popular in the late 1920s, but as an accessory, not a cover. Your hair looks fantastic, Kim :-)

Hi Summer,
from my research the advice is no colour for six months, I will probably be use to it by than. And have a plane ticket to Europe! but to be honest this is the first time in my life that travel doesn't interest me I must be tired. I am on the mend but sometimes the what-ifs pop up in my mind. I must stop this kind of talk! give myself a shake and get back to work. thanks for your support.

Dear Lyn,
We all come out in our own good time! I have now graduated to letting my immediate family see the silver lochs. I also felt I had to put a full face of makeup on the this morning to give me a bit of colour. I do not know how long I can keep that up though!
It is all part of the process of excepting ourselves I suppose and coming to terms with what has happened to us.
kind regards
Kim

Hi Kim. Love the colour. I must admit to be a teeny bit jealous. I finished chemo early October, & my hair isn't as long as yours ??. It's thickening up. Prior to treatment, I had coloured my hair for years, a honey blonde colour. What I have now is almost black, with lots of grey around the edges. I've decided to live with it, but not ready o give up my hats & scarves yet.
Take care, Lyn

Hi Kim
Congratulations in taking the step of enjoying your new look. If you just pass people by as if nothing is different they won't even notice your hair colour.
What a bonus to save $90 a month for your trip goal. That is something to work towards.
Like the coloured wig but like your pure silver much better. No good dying it as you simply don't know how each base of the colour will take and it may come out awful. Stay 'al la naturale'.
Well done
Summe :-)

Hi Kim,
i love your hair. So much nicer than the baby chimpanzee look I had as it grew back! As far as the curls are concerned, they may still come. My hair was about and inch and a half long when one morning I literally woke up with curls. It happened that quickly. It is now shoulder length with the most beautiful curls. I just love them. People are paying absolute squillions for that colour at the moment. :) Karen xox

WOW Kim, your hair looks fantastic....so even all over! My hair has come back thicker at the sides and back but is still taking its time on top and at front. I think to myself that if I was male, I would have definitely gone bald and had a receding hairline!!! You look great, embrace it!!! Xx

Thank you one and all. I have come out to myself now after all the encouragement. As I get used to it the world will follow. I have not brought the hair dye decided to go natural. I am still saving for that overseas holiday at the $90 a month I was spending at the hair dresses I will be there soon!
best wishes to all
Kim
ps I thought I would share this photo, this is what the ladies surprised me with at the "look good feel better" workshop, I was the model on the day. Talk about a new look! If you can't laugh at yourself.....

Hi Kim - your new style looks fab - it is part of a new beginning as you are beating this BC! Yes dark brown to silver is different when looking at your reflection however you did have the no hair look, with hats and scarves in between. Embrace the silver, from the photos you put up we all agree it looks fab!
Take care and good luck with the balance of your treatment xx
