You can leave your hat on!
Hi Ladies,
I am thinking of taking my hat off, only thinking of it at this stage mind you. I do not look in the mirror with my head naked, I know precious me! But today I got up the nerve and took a photo of my head. There is no one I feel I can trust to see me this way and give me an honest answer, stay covered or come out of hiding. I have always been a hat wearing person thank goodness, I have one for every occasion and 3 wigs. Anyway below is my hair I was astonished to see I had so much, what do you all think? I finished chemo the last week of October. My hair was long and brown (chemically enhanced) so you can understand my feelings about not being me in the mirror but I could be a ne
w version of me. And the dilemma of do I colour again or embrace the silver. I was hoping for some colour and I have no sign of curls like some people do, but hey you have to swing with the punches!

Mine is growing back with patchy grey and looks odd.
I say embrace the change :)

I think it looks gorgeous, very trendy! People will probably think you have spent hundreds at the hairdresser getting it to that beautiful silver colour. Mine is probably about the same length and I have already dyed it once, just brown over the top of a few too many whites for me at age 37! Embrace it you might be surprised at how freeing it can be! Hello Kim
Welcome to the white hair club - your new 'do' looks great on you. Go without hats and be proud of yourself. Still wear trendy statement hats when you feel like it but don't hide behind a hat as you don't need to.
I was told many years ago that when my hair goes white I will be able to wear so many colours I'd never been able to wear and that is right - so go ahead and play with the look of the new you.
Thanks for the photos.
Hugs Summer

You are being kind! Thank you Brenda. that photo of the top of my head looks like the moon. Interesting though. Breast cancer brings on many changes inside and out. I just need to learn exceptance. There could be a book in that idea, The Lessons Cancer Taught Me.

Thanks Nadine for the encouragement ?? My Aunty visited today and she has the same hair cut without chemo! So that what got me thinking about taking the hat off. Might just go for it. Kim

hi Rowdy, yes it does shine a bit, a bit Billy Idol I think? I am not enthused about colouring again, I need to take a deep breath and be brave and come out. ??

Hi thanks for your message bad luck about your favourite hat. I am in mourning for what chemo /BC has taken from me but it has been a chance to revaluate what I want in life I just have to be brave enough to get on with it. Like being brave enough to show my hair to the public I suppose I will only be a side show for awhile until the family and friends get use to it. Kim
