You can leave your hat on!

Hi Ladies,

I am thinking of taking my hat off, only thinking of it at this stage mind you. I do not look in the mirror with my head naked, I know precious me! But today I got up the nerve and took a photo of my head. There is no one I feel I can trust to see me this way and give me an honest answer, stay covered or come out of hiding. I have always been a hat wearing person thank goodness, I have one for every occasion and 3 wigs. Anyway below is my hair I was astonished to see I had so much, what do you all think? I finished chemo the last week of October. My hair was long and brown (chemically enhanced) so you can understand my feelings about not being me in the mirror but I could be a ne
w version of me. And the dilemma of do I colour again or embrace the silver. I was hoping for some colour and I have no sign of curls like some people do, but hey you have to swing with the punches!

  • Wow Kim, I'm jealous of how much hair you have! I like it!??

I had my last chemo mid Nov and peer in the mirror every morning hoping it has magically grown more overnight, mine is coming in more grey then my original brown, I think in part I still mourn the loss of my 52cms of hair, but also feel ok about it now, weird mix of feelings, I'm shocked at how much grey there is but I'm telling everybody its blonde! ??

maybe get used to wearing no hat around the house and slowly work up to going out with no hat?

i lost my favourite hat in December and thought well if I can't wear my favourite hat I won't wear one at all, so have been bopping about hatless for weeks now, it's interesting the excitement friends and family show each time they see me, checking out how much hair I have from the last time they saw me lol, it like my hair has its own cheersquad!

  • Wow I think it is a great colour, if you colour it you will have to keep it up .

I coloured mine as mine was more grey ( not silver) and curly. Now I have to colour every 4 weeks, the curls are gone thank goodness. Live with it for a while then make a choice.

  • Wow Kim I actually quite like it.... It looks great, go right ahead show off your new hairdo.
